Your products were frozen fresh, so when you defrost them they'll be as fresh as the day they were packed!
  • If you received your meats in a shipment, they are safe as long as they are cool to the touch, even if they are partially thawed. It is safe to cook or refreeze the items.
  • Refrigerator Thawing: Leave the product in its original packaging or transfer to a leak-proof bag. Place the meat in a dish and set on the bottom shelf. Allow 24 hours per 5 pounds of meat.
  • Cold Water Thawing: Leave the product in its original packaging or transfer to a leak-proof bag. The bag should be submerged in cold tap water, changing the water every 30 minutes so it continues to thaw. A roast may take 2-3 hours. If thawed completely, the food must be cooked immediately.
Helpful Hint: Remove the meat from the original package, and place in a leaf-proof bag with any seasoning/marinades you want to use. As the product thaws, it will absorb the flavors of the seasonings!
